Connecting Your Broker
Connect Interactive Brokers or Tradier for order execution
Choosing Your Broker
Broker connections are managed under Settings → Broker Connection. Pick your brokerage provider (Interactive Brokers or Tradier) to route orders for execution.
Set a Default Trading Account for orders to route to. You can always pick a different account at the moment you submit an order, so the default is just a convenience.
Your broker (for placing orders) and your live market-data provider are independent. The data provider is chosen separately under Settings → Market Data, so you can, for example, execute through one and stream quotes from another.
Connecting Interactive Brokers
Stratsigma reaches Interactive Brokers through a small Connector, a bridge app that links your running Trader Workstation (TWS) to Stratsigma. You download it once and it runs from then on.
Setup:
- With Interactive Brokers selected as your broker, download the Connector and accept the file when prompted.
- Run the downloaded file. It pairs with your Stratsigma account and keeps running in the background, reconnecting on its own.
- Set the TWS API Port in Stratsigma to match the port configured in TWS under Configure → API → Settings. The default is 7496 for live trading and 7497 for paper trading.
A status line shows the connection state (first to Stratsigma, then to TWS) so you can confirm everything is linked.
Connecting Tradier
Tradier connects directly over its API. No separate app to install. Tradier issues two API keys per user: one for live (production) trading and one for paper (sandbox) trading.
- Select Tradier as your broker.
- Generate your API keys on Tradier's site. Use the Tradier API Settings link shown in Settings.
- Paste the token for the environment you want into its field: Live Account for production, the sandbox field for paper (the eye icon reveals it to double-check). You can configure either or both.
- Choose your Default Trading Account from the dropdown. Only the environments you've entered a key for appear there.
A Note on Tradier's Index Prices
Instead of spot prices, Tradier reports derived values for SPX, RUT, VIX, and NDX. If you use Tradier for market data but execute through a different broker, the profit Stratsigma shows for those symbols may differ slightly from your broker's.
